-Paul Andrews, President and CEO, TTI, Incorporated
What is the Industrial Distribution major at Texas A&M?
The Industrial Distribution (ID) Program at Texas A&M University is a people-oriented, business/engineering major for students in the College of Engineering. ID prepares students for fascinating career paths that combine technical knowledge, business basics, excellent communication skills and leadership experience.
Day-to-day challenges faced by industrial distributors, manufacturers or manufacturer’s representatives require a high degree of professionalism with business and technical talent. To fulfill these demands, A&M’s ID curriculum includes study in applied engineering, business, communications, global logistics, information technology, leadership, and human relations. This knowledge base prepares ID graduates to develop effective relationships with executives, managers, engineers, scientists and craftsmen, and positions the graduates to be a resource to areas like manufacturing, plant maintenance or construction operations. The ID graduate is able to apply specialized knowledge of operations, business, and product knowledge in order to provide system solutions. Essentially, the ID graduate becomes an integral part of the customer’s team – a challenging and rewarding profession.
